The Norman Tigers kept their winning ways going on Friday, March 18, with 2 victories against Muldrow and Salina. Those wins give the Tigers 4 in a row and an overall record of 7-1-1 heading into a busy slate of games this week.
NHS vs Muldrow, 10-2 (5 inning run rule)
Senior, Ben Huntley, got the scoring started for the Tigers in the bottom of the 4th inning on a line drive triple to the right center gap scoring Ryan Huntley and Harrison Smith.
Norman scored in all 5 innings as they kept the pressure on the Bulldogs the whole game. Ben Huntley led the way with 4 RBIs while Ryan Huntley, Clayton Moore, and Simon White addded 1 each.
Connor Goodson got the start on the mound for Norman. He looked sharp in his 2nd start of the year going 3 innings without giving up a hit and striking out 5 Bulldog hitters on only 35 pitches.
NHS vs Salina, 10-2 (5 inning run rule)
The bats for Norman High really came alive in the 2nd game of the day against Salina. The Tigers pounded 11 hits in the 5 inning affair while also collecting 3 walks.
Goodson led the way with 3 RBIs, while Ryan Huntley and Dax Noles contributed 2. Ben Huntley, Liam McKinney, and Rylan Schuchman each added 1.
Clayton Moore shut a potent Wildcat offense down with 4.2 innings of stellar work. He finished giving up only 1 hit and struck out 6 in the start.
Busy Week Ahead
The Tigers have a busy week ahead with 4 games on the docket. Rain pushed Monday's district game against Capitol Hill to Tuesday creating a double header against the RedWolves at Tiger Stadium with the first game at 4:30 p.m. Norman will host Del City on Thursday and Putnam City HS on Friday at 5:00 p.m. both nights. Norman High will celebrate it's 11 seniors before Friday's game.
